All of Mosaic Community Development’s programs are focused on building relationships with the impoverished and marginalized in our very own city.
SupportWorks is a team approach ministry of small church-based groups or families, which exists to “transform communities through community,” by developing supportive relational networks that offer holistic care for the impoverished with the aim of ending chronic cycles of poverty and restoring lives. Life on the Brick exists as an entry to healthy relationships by providing food and clothing, which will bridge the gap and help address issues of homelessness. We can think of no more beautiful place to build relationships than over a shared meal around the table. Our goal is to break down the dichotomy of “giver” and “receiver,” and celebrate life alongside one another. We have a meal every Monday night from 5:30-7:00pm. Click here for more details.

The Vine is a community of people in the Omaha area, gathering each Tuesday night at 6:30 pm to share our lives with one another, and grow together as we seek to love Jesus and see His Gospel transform our hearts, minds, and therefore our lives. The Vine naturally lends itself to building relationships with those that MCD seeks to enter into community with, and our hope is that these relationships would work to support and encourage our SupportWorks program. Burundian Refugee Community: Each Sunday members of small groups pick up members of the Burundian community, fellowship together at church, then join one another at MCD for a home-cooked meal (provided by the small group) as they practice learning English through ESL and the context of community. Through the service of Coram Deo church, this ministry has blossomed and is growing. We hope that you or your church will join in. Click here for more details.

Park Avenue Community Collaboration is a diverse network of over 20 area faith leaders from 15 local churches and organizations focused on responding in relational service to pressing local needs and concerns. We are excited to launch a weekly community meal time this September, provided by Omaha churches. These meals will provide opportunities to meet practical needs and build a stronger and healthier Park Avenue community. Click here for more details.

Illumination Street is a community minded arts program that gives local artists of diverse backgrounds and experience levels a chance to participate in fun art shows. It’s also an opportunity for artists to serve and be served through the poverty outreach of Mosaic Community Development. Illumination Street is looking for artists to donate or enter their artwork into our bi-monthly silent auctions in order to raise money for MCD’s programs. Click here for more details.
